An easy thing to start with would be quoting in mails. In the lyx mailing lists (as well as in lots of other mailing lists and newsgroups) it is common to cut down the mails one is responding to to the relevant bits and write _below_ these sections. Reading top-down is pretty common in most parts of the world and the reduction to the relevant parts asaves bandwidth and the reader's time. So it is also a polite thing to do. Andre'
