How are
they typesetting your article? Will they accept a camera-ready .pdf from you
if it's generated at a sufficiently high resolution?

I'll try to find out from the journal what they recommend to fix this problem. Thanks, Rich.

Do I really have to go through the tex file and replace\emph with \it and

Bruce,

I would hope not! From what you wrote in your original message, it seems the problem is on their end, since they don't have LaTeX installed. How are they typesetting your article? Will they accept a camera-ready .pdf from you
if it's generated at a sufficiently high resolution?
