Well... type

 \newcommand{\sqbullet}{\vrule height .9ex width .8ex depth -.1ex }  

as usual text, mark it, press Ctrl-M, type in the second box

 \bullet

Now \sqbullet in Math shows as round bullet but prints as square bullet.
Not exactly Wysiwig and needs math mode...
