I've uninstalled 1.5.1 (in case of...) and installed 1.5.2.LyX-1.5.2 can't compile tex files, either. It hooks in an endless waiting, as it forks(?) to run
sh -c latex 'latexdoc.tex'
When typed in a shell, sh -c makes latex to ask for the filename, so
noone can reply anything here...
