Yes, it sounds like the same problem! What I do at the moment is, that make a ps-file and convert it with pstoedit into pdf. Works but takes more time and also more memory-space for the ps.
I don't know, why it doesn't work in Lyx 1.5.x but did work in 1.4.x ...? I tried texlive-extra-utils, what doesn't help. Let me know, if you find a solution!
