Both, I guess. The devel list is lyx-devel AT lists.lyx.org.Are you using LyX with the newest Qt4.4? If yes this is a known problem and you have 4 choices:
1) downgrade to Qt4.3 2) wait for 1.5.5 3) compile yourself a recent svn snapshot 4) I think the debian maintainer has produce a patched version. Abdel.
