Thank you, I found specificly the ltcaption.sty from http://home.in.tum.de/~gagern/E-JC/ copied to /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/ from terminal: sudo texhash from lyx: Tools > reconfigure then restart Now .. both LyX 1.6.0 and 1.5.5 in Ubuntu 8.04 can view the doc/EmbeddedObjects WAS
