The thread you mention says that while the interface becomes unresponsive, the user can still quit or save using ctrl-Q and ctrl-S. In my case, there is a full lockup, the ctrl-... keys also stop working. On fedora, libxcb is in a separate package, but it has never been updated (the installed version is the one that came with fedora 10 originally). I have downgraded myx xorg packages to the previously installed version, but that still doesn't help. Michael
