But then you had the info that the MiKTeX installation failed. This can occur due to server problems
of the MiKTeX mirrors.
I had assumed it was a MiKTex install issue but I've now run the MikTex
install by itself, followed by the Lyx install and it all seems ok.
Good that it works now for you.
I guess I was just expecting some more positive confirmation that the MikTex
install had completed successfully than the enabling of the [NEXT] button. And
that was compounded by Lyx complaining.
When MiKTeX is installed successfully, your get a n info about this, but in your case the
installation was not complete.
