no, just the end of the left column (I am using twocolumn koma book).
If you don't mind and if it is clarifying the issue, I am sending you 
privately the page with the place of the citation which gives me trouble.

But before I do it, could you or somebody else explain to me the following:
I changed the text layout in document>settings from twocolumn to onecolumn, to 
find out whether this makes a difference. However, my document pdf output 
stays twocolumn. I removed the existing .pdf and .aux file and viewed again 
the pdf file: still twocolumn. I changed the name of the lyx document from 
rfn2010A to rfn2010C and ran again the pdf viewing. Still two column. Same, 
if I export it as pdf and view it.

This is puzzling. Can I remove safely the /tmp/lyx_tmpdir.TJ3933/lyx_tmpbuf0 
file, to check whether lyx is then doing its job? I am using version 2.0.0svn 
under Debian
