Hello LyXers,
the alternative Windows installer for LyX 1.6.8 is now available.
This installer comes again with an update installer to update existing
LyX 1.6.7 installation to LyX
1.6.8. NOTE: To be able to use this update installer, LyX 1.6.7 must
have been installed with the
alternative Windows installer.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are using MiKTeX 2.8 and you use not the update version of this
installer, you will be asked to update MiKTeX. Doing this is in general
recommended, but since a few weeks, this will introduce the problem that
MiKTeX becomes slow. This can be fixed, by
1. copy the file "ifxetex.sty" from the folder
~\MiKTeX 2.8\tex\generic\ifxetex
to the folder
~\MiKTeX 2.8\tex\latex\ifxetex
2. refresh MiKTeX's file name database by pressing the button
"Refresh FNDB" in the MiKTeX Options
It is up to you to deny this time the update of MiKTeX.
