Hi, I have the same problem with spanish. If I run the script that appears on the messages windows (Rscript --verbose --no-save...) on the console (cmd on Windows 7), it executes without problems. A Sweave-test-1.tex file is generated with all chunks processed. Maybe someone can tell us where to change the LC_CTYPE settings. Franz
