Hi,

I am new to LaTeX and LyX, and I am trying to start writing a document using the
Springer SVMono class/template for LyX. I have downloaded and installed the
class. LyX offers a number of templates for this class, in particular
svmono-book-master, svmono-chapter, svmono-foreword, etc. I am now able to read
any of these files, which contain some pre-defined stuff. One may think the
stuff is correct by itself, since I have not changed anything in the files.
However, when I choose the view option, for example pdf or pc, I get lots of
error messages. I suppose the book-master file has to be combined somehow with
other files to form a complete structure of the document, and I tried to re-edit
the names of the various files in the book-master document to make them
connected, but this did not help.

What exactly has to be done, step by step, to put the files together to form
one complete document that can be viewed without errors?

Leslaw
