We do not have yet a global default format if non-TeX fonts is selected, see http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/7871 However, you can set the default format per document, in Document > Settings. That is, after this bug is fixed (in next LyX release): http://www.lyx.org/trac/ticket/8013 Jürgen
