One idea would be to allow every Flex inset to be a branch inset, in the

that it would appear in the branch menu and could be turned on and off.
E.g.:
InsetLayout Footnote
Branch 1
End
would mean: Allow footnotes to be turned on and off. Of course, one
could then
have customized insets of this type, too.
This would be easy to do.
