I was referring to your LyX user dir, usually ~/.lyx. But you said that it was .lyx20 so the previous preferences were in the .lyx20 folder? Just to test, you could run ./src/lyx -userdir /tmp/tempuserdir LyX will ask you if you want to create the new directory. Click yes. See if you get the same errors. Scott
