The "Scholar Net" program appears to expect a few months delay before they
have suitable systems ready for students to use. Amongst their
requirements is stability (and LyX-1.0.0 is about as stable as we're going
to get it). The gnome compliance might take a few months work and will
only be supported in the development version. Although they could easily
do a temporary gnome port of 1.0.0 and we'd then incorporate that work
into 1.1.

We can't really lose whatever happens (unless gwp gets lots of support,
moves ahead of LyX and we're left with only us using it).
