My recommendation for those with entry-level soldering gear or skills is: 1 - snip the battery legs using "parts snips" type side cutters. Do not attempt with tools that don't fit the space well. (you want this style: https://www.kleintools.com/catalog/diagonal-cutting-electronics-pliers/diagonal-cutting-pliers-flush-cutter-lightweight-5-inch ) 2 - Heat each leg and use a "solder sucker" to remove as much solder as possible. These pads have higher heat capacity that some others so be patient 3 - Remove the leg with needle-nose pliers. If necessary, heat the pad or leg while doing so. -Josh
