Ask and ye shall receive. Model 200 refurb and cap replacement. Link to parts list/capacitor map in description.
https://youtu.be/OJcvws9j3Io The modern replacement you will get for one of this will most likely be NiMh. Neither NiCad of NiMh is difficult to solder in. For anything with a lot of mass you need a soldering iron with enough power, wattage, to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. If your iron is on the smaller side, you can preheat the PCB a bit, in that area, with a hair dryer. Lithium batteries are a different ballgame as lithium catches fire in open air, if you overheat it, draw too much current from the battery, look at them cross-eyed, etc. Jeff Birt From: M100 <m100-boun...@lists.bitchin100.com> On Behalf Of B 9 Sent: Friday, July 31, 2020 2:47 PM To: m...@bitchin100.com Subject: Re: [M100] M-102 keyboard flat ribbon cable On Thu, Jul 30, 2020 at 7:46 AM Jeffrey Birt <bir...@soigeneris.com <mailto:bir...@soigeneris.com> > wrote: The video where I show battery replacement as well as capacitor replacement is here https://youtu.be/IGTdNMx1V1w Is there a similar video for the Model 200? I'm in the camp of not recommending trying to snip the battery out as I have seen folks damage PCBs trying to snip things off the board. If you have the right type of snipper, as Josh recommends, and it is sharp it will be OK. If not don't attempt to snip, just desolder. How dangerous is it to solder NiCd batteries? I know Lithium is tricky and has to be done extremely carefully. —b9
