Socat is a Linux command line utility for connecting different streams together. So you would use it to connect wimodem232 tcp connections to a Epson printer emulator which would create jobs in the native Linux print subsystem.
I've used socat extensively... I've never used any Linux Epson emulator other than the one built into VirtualT but I understand they exist. -- John.
