One thing I like to do is to take each piece of mailart (2-d) and 
envelope it between pieces of mylar that I sew together on the sewing 
machine. This makes both sides of the piece accessible, and does not 
alter the piece at all.  For one exhibition I then sewed all of the 
pieces together vertically and had them running down the wall from the 
ceiling and through a mailbox that was on a pedestal then down onto 
and out along the floor.
