Voice Alerts is the one I use. It reads Caller ID, the ID of whose txting u. When u get an email on ur gmail, and other stuff. Its a good ap, and...Its free! Danielle NK

Otherwise, it just silences the ringing but reads nothing. I'm not sure why it happens, and I haven't found a way around it.
