I don't know which carrier you use, hopefully this option is available
with all of them. I'm using Sprint, and I have my voice mail setup so
that if I'm calling from my phone, a password isn't needed. I mainly use
Sprint's voice mail app anyway, but it is set this way if I ever want to
just check the voice mail the old fashioned way.
You might also try to press the menu key on your phone's keyboard during
the call to voice mail. After that you should be able to press the
numbers on the keyboard.
