people have never been able to hear vo when in a call with me even while in speaker phone so I'm not sure what you're talking about

Hi Chris,

Its in the middle of the status bar. VO output no longer is emitted through the loud speaker during calls, so you have to listen hard and hope the other party isn't talking to loudly. To me, this is still better than the old way where the person you're talking with hears everything that VO says (especially on the 3GS).
