Yep okay I'll clarify what I said earlier and you're right about the higher 
sample rates, point being that my Fastrak mixer for example supports all this 
stuff as does the Reaper software.

Getting back to the original original point of my reply to Lynne's message 
<smile>, you don't have to spend a fortune these days to get a multi channel 
sound device which does all this stuff, which mixes, has multiple inputs and so 
on.  The Fastrak mixer I have cost me less than $100.00 and that's just one 
example.

If you take a look at your local computer store you'll see literally dozen's of 
different USB sound devices and mixers - though for clarity let's just call 
them sound devices whether they be a mixer or not because a Sound Device in the 
instances here is exactly what we're talking about <smile>. -

All the big names are in the game include such brands as Asus, they're turning 
out quite a respectable range of "Pro" sound devices so no excuse now for 
someone not to be able to make their own home studio for recording music or 
whatever takes their fancy.
