Hello Dane I'm not disputing that the iMic is a dinosaur@ Nor am I disputing that there are better devices out there and I have to say that I can't discuss regarding accurate pricing because I just don't know.
I know Logitech do a number of USB sound devices and I am told there are also a couple of 1394B sound devices on the market now at reasonable prices. So, in summary; OK, point taken. Forget the iMic, go for something better. Consign the iMic to the history museums; and go for something shiny and new. I'm no expert; so I won't comment further. Yep its true that most people probably would be satisfied with an Imic for general recording/playback use but it ain't gonna get you too far when using Reaper. Second to this stroll into your local computer shop here at any rate, ask for an Imic sound device and see how far you get, most likely you'll either end up walking out the door without a sound card or walking out the door with a sound device for the same amount of money which does far mor so when i talk about professional sound devices now I'm talking about something which is usually in stock and readily available, a standard piece of computer equipment nowadays etc. Also remember that the Imic is 6 years old, a great device but technology has moved on since that time. The Imic is a "Classic" design but we've moved on, we've advanced thus have sound devices acquired more power and more flexibility so feel free to explore the big wide world and see what you find <smile>. <--- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net ---> To reply to this post, please address your message to mac-access@mac-access.net You can find an archive of all messages posted to the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: <http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html> or at the public Mail Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/>.
