Hi Mike, John Panarese's MacForTheBlind web site's documentation page has RTF versions of these manuals. Just go to: http://macfortheblind.com/documentation (Type in the four words "Mac for the blind" as all lower case, without spaces, and add the ".com" extenstion, then type a slash and append the word "documentation".)
However, I think that an easier way to check the English and German equivalents for terms in the iOS 5 VoiceOver User's Guide is to use the accessible HTML version for the iPhone OS 5 in English and in German. The same sections only differ by using "en" (for English) instead of "de" (for German) in the URL address. So, for example, the English version of the iPhone OS 5 user guide is: http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/en/ while the German version uses the same address with "de" substituted for "en": http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/de/ This also works for individual sections. The section on "Accessibility" of the User Guide for the iPhone is: http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/en/iph3e2e2c13.html The same section on "Bedienungshilfen" in the German version of the User Guide can be found by replacing the "en" in the previous address with "de": Using this substitution I can find an example of how double tapping to unlock the iPhone screen is translated, even though I don't speak German, just by finding the corresponding text to the section of the VoiceOver User Guide in English and in German. For example, under the section of "Using VoiceOver" is the description: Unlock iPhone Select the Unlock button, then double-tap the screen. On the same page of the German version of the User Guide, "Verwenden von VoiceOver", is the description: Entsperren des iPhone Wählen Sie den Schalter „Entsperren“ aus und heben Sie die Sperre durch Doppeltippen auf den Bildschirm auf. The two different translations are on the pages: http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/en/iph3e2e2329.html and for the German: http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/de/iph3e2e2329.html I keep a TextEdit window open to paste in the URLs and to change "en" to "de", and then to find the corresponding text on each page to copy.
