I don't think I'm that technical. Cheers Paula -----Original Message----- From: mac-access-boun...@mac-access.net [mailto:mac-access-boun...@mac-access.net] On Behalf Of Lewis Alexander Sent: Monday, 19 December 2011 5:54 AM To: Mac OSX & iOS Accessibility Subject: Re: Removing applications from App switcher in IPhone double tap the menu button at the bottom of your iphone, this brings up app switcher. to clear apps, do the following: tap the app once for it's name then double tap but hold on the 2nd tap until you hear "Editing Apps" . a sound effect is also played. then double tap to remove it. After you have done so, tap the menu button to clear app switcher. WARNING! at this time in IOS5, there is an OS error where certain applications (memory resident) if quit, will cause a cyclic crash. if this happens, the only way to do this is a full on reset from itunes. this is the only way to do this. the symptoms of this are as follows: within the space of 5 minutes, the iphone will crash, restart and repeat, even when docked into itunes or charging. SOLUTION: in iTunes, commence a full reset, before this, it is advised to backup the contents of your phone. if your ringtones are stored in iTunes and are copied to the iphone then this is fine, Please note that in this instance, the reset will completely erase the iphone and install the OS from scratch. if you encounter problems, please email freemacsforthebl...@mac-access.net and I will assist directly. hope this helps. lew On 18 Dec 2011, at 18:41, Paula Hobley wrote: > Hi there > > I am using the IPhone 3GS.
