Yes there is some accessibility on the Kindle, Glen. But the question was, are 
Kindle books accessible on a Mac, and the answer to that is no, they are not. 
There are other sources for e-books, as Anne has pointed out. but Kindle on the 
Mac is a no go unless you strip out the drm using processes which have been 
documented elsewhere and are not something the average person would mess with 
imho. The messier the work around the less the experience resembles the "it 
just works" slogan.
