This has never been an issue here, I've been testing ML since it was a release preview, and had no such problems. If anything, the safari experience has grown more stable with every upgrade to the system, not less. The only exception I can think of is with Lion, where it was briefly very difficult to do anything because the browser was always busy. Nowadays that never happens.
