If you don't mind me asking, why do you need a microphone? I know for Skype, but even when docked I think, correct me if I'm wrong, the internal mike still works, and honestly, there's nothing at all wrong with the internal mike. Actually, it's quite decent in my opinion. Also, I'm not totally sure if it was the native phone app, or Skype, but one of the two had an issue where even when docked, it still came out the internal speaker phone rather than the dock speakers. I think that was a limitation of the app though, not of the dock.
