What I do is use a tool called “tinker tool” I think I spelled that right but you can find it on mac update’s site.
I then go to the log in items tab and uncheck all my start up things. I also try and not have any externals start up at start up if I can help it. I’ve gotten it down to about 45 seconds or maybe 50 which is pretty darned good for my older machine. Take care.
