Most of them I knew but I did apply those concerning software that starts at Login, thought I'd take a look and there were several things I didn't need or that had been deleted from the computer entirely, I made the necessary changes and that has made a difference so regardless of whether these tips work or they don't they're still good maintanence tips if nothing else.
I was most interested to read the discussion about how much free drive space is optimal for a Mac, that's something I've never considered before and probably because the drive on my Mac computers is or never has been anywhere near full as most of my content is written to and read from external media. Curiously the page doesn't discuss disk defragmentation though I can possibly see why, Drive Defragmentation on a Mac computer isn't a serious performance issue for most Mac users, it only becomes an issue really when you start doing heavy disk dependent tasks such as Audio and Video editing. For those who don't want to worry about the defragmentation of your drive then there's always the quick fix, backup your drive, erase the drive and restore the backup back to the drive.
