Ar nice! So what does this speak command actually do? Sorry; never used
it since I rely on VoiceOver speaking text.

Well, I read messages a little different from most. I press enter on the
messages thread. This on pens the message in another window. Then I do VO e
for edit and arrow down to speech and hit enter on start speaking. This will
read you the message without anything being spoken besides the text. I was
told that there’s a hot key to read like this, but I don’t know it.

Sorry for all questions, it is just I am trying to wean myself off Windows and
using Mac more rather than concentrating on training lessons. It is only with
more use that the issues are arising.
Now in Mail, I thought if I want to reply to a message and to use dictation, I
could press the Fn key twice and once again to stop the dictation. I am doing
this but nothing happens. I can hear a sort of beep when the dictation
supposedly starts but then there is nothing when I stop the dictation. I
thought I had set this up in text edit with someone but maybe it has to be set
up in Mail also.
Secondly when I am reading a mail from someone, vo keeps saying words are
misspelt and I guess they are because of the way people write in slang etc. Now
on my Windows PC I don't have this happening. Do I have to just put up with
listening to this intrusion of misspelt as messages are being read back to me?
