Hello Sarah, Here’s how I am able to rearrange columns in the classic view of Mail in Mavericks 10.9.4. Thanks to John Panarese’ excellent macforthe blind.com website for reminding me how to move focus to the header row.
1. Interact with the messages list in Mail. 2. Press VO+Shift+\ to move focus to the column headers. 3. Press VO+left or right arrows to move focus to the “status” column header. 4. Press VO+Command+Shift+Spacebar to perform a mouse-down click. 5. Press VO+right or left arrow to move focus where you want to drop the status column. VO will announce the name of each header as you move past it. 6. When you’ve reached the desired location for your status column, press VO+Command+Shift+Spacebar to perform a mouse-up. This should drop the column in it’s new location. 7. When you are done rearranging columns, press VO+Shift+\ to return focus to the body of the messages list.
