Three things, first of all, the word would be ignorant and not stupid. You're not stupid you just don't have certain information, And there's no reason to apologize for that. Secondly, if I were you I would completely forget about windows as a reference point for learning the Mac. They are two different animals, and It will only interfere with your understanding of the Mac operating system.
