Hello Eleanor,

To repair permissions:
• Open your Utilities folder (Cmd-Shift-u);
• Type dis to get quickly to Disk Utility and open it (Cmd-o);
• Interact with the table and navigate down to your hard drive (probably the
second item in the list);
• Stop interacting and navigate twice to the right to make sure that First Aid
is selected;
• Navigate straight down as far as Repair disk permissions and press VO-Space:
• You can follow progress by navigating up to the Results table and interacting
with it;
• When the repair is complete, it will say “Permissions repair complete” at the
bottom of the Results table;
• Quit Disk utility.

There will always be a few things to repair. I usually find about 7 lines in
the table, but I’ve seen computers with thousands of lines of repairs!

Cheers,

Anne

As the Mac Access Dot Net administrators, we always strive to ensure that the
Mac-Access E-Mal list remains malware, spyware, Trojan, virus and worm-free.
However, this should in no way replace your own security strategy. We assume
neither liability nor responsibility should something unpredictable happen.
