Hmmm......
This is all very interesting since the 6100s have no mobo reset or
"CUDA" button!

So, according to Apple, here's how you reset the 6100:
Unplug the power cord, pull the battery out, disconnect the power supply
cable from the motherboard, and then press the power on button on the
face like you do when you turn it on.  Wait ten minutes.  Reconnect
everything and turn it on as normal.

If this doesn't work your replacement battery may be too weak to do the
job - anything below 3.2v is likely to cause problems. This usually
shows up as video problems first (black or blank screen).

Hope this helps start your machine and clear up the mystery of the
missing little red CUDA button.
