Tom, Tom Tom, I pay those outrageous shipping prices as well and when the package gets to the border, it's only the luck of the draw that keeps an item from the valuation of the contents by the sender's form or by the insurance assignment, along with the charging of 15% GST on that amount, and a $5 service fee for watching it go by.
If the package is sent UPS or other courier, expect a hefty brokerage fee instead of the 5 bucks. I wish it were different, but that's the way it's supposed to work. If it comes through fast and clean of taxes and fees, someone's not doing their job. and you have momentarily escaped the intentions of the Canadian government. This time..............
