Here's another Me Too! comment. I run mailing lists for a couple of clubs as part of my hobby activity. I've been doing this for almost twenty years now, staring on a Mac II cx, first with home-grown scripts and mail client software, and eventually with commercial list software. The list software was updated a couple of times and each time I got socked for a few hundred C$, which was painful since it ate into my Mac toy budget ;-) I didn't shell out the last time, but instead I migrated everything to OS X and installed Mailman, which is open software, and picked qmail as the mail software (the previous list software wouldn't run on the same box as a mail server, so I relied on my ISP). The only time that system has been down in the last couple of _years_ was when I took it down for upgrades or installs, and during the blackout.

My work habits and flows have changed to adjust to OS X, and it's almost impossible to go back to OS 9 - it no longer feels right. Panther on my iBook feels pretty snappy, but I must confess didn't really miss OS 9's speed before - there were too many other advantages. Come on in, the water's fine!

You've made this sort of comment several times. You really don't make a lot of sense, and frankly, betray your own lack of knowledge.

You really need to do some more research. I liked OS 9 as well, but
in comparison to OS X, well, there is no comparison. After using it X
for a couple of years - 10.2 since December - I would never go back.

Everything about OS X is far more sophisticated and reliable than 9.
My Powerbook has been running continuously for three months now -
that's no crashes. Zero.

If you've got specific concerns about OS X, go ahead and air them.
There's certainly problems and difficulties that could use some
discussion.

But let's leave out the ignorant, derisive aphorisms.
