will do it, of course, and so will some models by SMC and Buffalo.Well, don't limit yourself. Both my wireless router and the PCMCIA card in my Wallstreet are from Linksys, but that's because of what was on sale, not any sort of brand loyalty. Once you've decided on whether you're going to go "b" ("Airport") or "g" (Airport Extreme), a router is a router is a router.
With one exception.
If the Powerbook in question is running OS 9 or below (forgive me, I've deleted the post in which you may have mentioned this) and if you plan to share files with other computers via AppleTalk, you'll need a router that supports AppleTalk. These are not fun to find. The Airport (any version)
All of the routers will allow appletalk on the wired switch on the router, however the wireless side may not.
Netgear routers do support appletalk on the wireless side, as do Asante wireless routers. Linksys do not.
Why would it matter? In my case, my home network has a mix of 9 and X machines, as well as networked laser printers and an appleshare 4 server. If I want to connect my iBook wirelessly to the server, the wireless side of the router must pass appletalk. To be able to see printers in the chooser or print centre via appletalk, it must pass appletalk on the wireless side.
