I can't seem to get my old Umax S-6E to work under OS 9.2.2 (nothing wrong with the scanner - just Umax, who seem to be drifting away from the Mac platform). I could probably get it to work with something like VueSscan but it costs more than the S-6E is worth!
Anyway I have decided to upgrade and would be interested to have list member's opinions on what scanner to go for. Here's my requirements: Budget �100 New or pre-owned Optical res: 600 x 1200 or better Transparency hood (built-in or available) Mac OS 9 and X compatible (without resorting to 3rd party driver) USB, SCSI or Firewire (any will do) The Dark Side seem to have a plethora of machines with this spec to choose from - I'm struggling to find any!
