I finally got there at about half nine and waited 3.5 hours to get in (it
was dry most of the time luckily! Only the last 20 minutes did it rain, and
then only lightly)...got the T-shirt and didn't need to sleep on the
pavement :)

There were only about 30-40 T-shirts left when I got through the doors and
they were completely gone at around 1:30.

The store is great and they do indeed have a lot of space and equipment on
display. The best I found was seeing the 30" displays in person, they had
two of them set up as an extended desktop and the real estate was unreal!

If you liked electronic music, they had a DJ mixing some tunes upstairs and
pumping it around the upper floor at elevated volume.

I will need to go again just to see all the accessories as the mass of
people did not allow detailed browsing of this (the majority of smaller
accessories are located below the demo Macs/iPods stands on shelves).

It was damn cold and there was a wind nearly all the time but the other
hopefuls in line provided excellent companionship and conversation, I had
brought the iPod and was prepared to do the solo thing but this wasn't
necessary. All in all I had a great time and enjoyed the atmosphere of the
opening! Looking back, I would do it again (but would not be sick enough to
sleep two nights to get a better position).

Comic relief was provided by some individuals trying to hand out PC World
leaflets to the end of the waiting masses! They seemed miffed that no one
wanted to take them!

Cheers,

Richard
