All you could possibly achieve is a slightly better optical drive and a bigger hard disk, both of which you can easily add by firewire to the Mac mini with the money you save from not having to buy an iMac :-P
I was thinking the same things. Get any old G4 from ebay, bang some big drives in it and off you go for less. What a total waste.
Some people have to much money and time on their hands. Now taking a Mac mini apart and sticking the innards into a Colour Classic, THAT's different!
