I'm new to the Mac, and I bought an external hard disk for my G4 for backup purposes. I formatted this disk using the Disk Utility programme. The icon for this external hard disk now appears in the Finder below the icon for the internal hard disk, but when I try to install Mac OS 10.2 on the external disk I get a warning from the installer that it cannot be installed on that disk. I copied all the files (including the System Folder) on the internal hard drive to the external hard disk, but when I try to set this disk as the start-up disk the icon doesn't appear in the list of drives that can be designated as the start-up disk.
So, my question is - how can I make the external drive bootable? Hope someone can help. Thanks.
