That is my impression, Neil, yes. We use the French word and we all know how popular the French are in America! What was that again, about cheese, surrender and monkeys........?

Sometimes, you just have to teach your online dictionary a lesson or two! :D

I believe the UK spelling of the broadcast form is programme, while the computing form is program. Am I right Susan?

By the way, in PowerMail the spell checker is marking out programme as
incorrectly spelled. It's using the Apple Services spellchecker, I think,
with the OS set to UK English (OSX 10.3.6).
