Hey all.

Bought myself a mac mini back at the beginning of February,
after getting it home I wiped the default Panther install.

Then I created two partitions and installed Panther and
Tiger (from my ADC sub) so I could watch some h264 streams
from work.

Got it connected up under my TV with one of the little S-Video
output convertors, all was well till I rented a DVD the other
night and popped it in and it wouldn't play. Opened DVD Player
manually and when I hit play it just said 'Not permitted' on
the screen.

Tried the same disc in some boxes at work, couple of G5s,
some G4s and they played fine, except for one Quicksilver G4.

The DVD also played ok in my Powerbook, borrowed a pile of DVDs
from a friend last night and none of them played in my Mac Mini
using Apple DVD Player either in Panther or Tiger, but when I
ran VideoLan/VLC they played fine.

Anyone any idea why this might be?

Thanks!

nat,
