Safari was updated in 10.3.9 to version 1.3 and is known to cause some problems when closing windows or the app and with Java, also some plugins like Pith Helmut, etc...do not function so if anyone is finding this is happening to them then first try trashing the following:
~ (home directory) /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins If that doesn't help then Safari 1.2 is available from the Apple website (at least until Tiger! or... Firefox is available in version 1.03 with several security updates both standard versions and the optimised G3, G4 and G5 builds.
