Anyone got any opinions on the choice between eMac or Mac mini?

Your biggest choice has to be if you want the large CRT monitor that comes with the eMac, or if you'd prefer the very small footprint of a Mini with an LCD screen.

Yeah. And its occurred to me that if I get the eMac, I'm stuck with the screen it comes with for the life of the machine. The mini offers more flexibility. I shall be using an old CRT with it to start with, but once the funds are available I'll probably get an LCD.

You can get good quality 17" screens for 149 these days from people like Dabs and Ebuyer, but if funds are limited, there are some nice 15" LCD screens for 99 that aren't much smaller than a 17" CRT, and start to make up for the cost in electricity saved quite quickly too.
