They are bootable in a G3 with both OS9 and OSX (10.1.5 upwards
according to Firmtek's web site).
Last time I asked them they didn't have a UK distributor but were
quite happy to ship direct from the US.
Ben.
Thanks Ben. It must be the SeriTek/1S2 Internal 2-Port Adapter SATA
card that I need...$70 + international delivery.
That would be the one. Postage was about $28 I think.
Hang on...requires 10.2 or higher. And it would have to be Jaguar,
because beyond that my SCSI card and backup tape drive are no
longer supported by Retrospect. Unless I replace them with a
Firewire alternative.....yikes.
It might be worth checking with Firmtek as to what the requirements
really are by email (they're quite helpful in my experience). The
data sheet for the 1S2 (http://www.firmtek.com/seritek/seritek-1se2/
spec/) seems to suggest that it does work in 10.1.5 or above, but
that 10.2 or later is recommended...
Why do these upgrades always end up costing more than you
expect...in terms of money and time ;-)
Eh, yes. They're never simple are they?
Ben.
